In a running session, you can manually change your patient’s vital sign values, waveforms and customize the layout of the virtual patient monitor on the go.

You can learn how to do these changes in this video:

Or as explained in detail below:

Changing Vital Sign Values

In the Virtual Patient Monitor, click on the Vital Sign that you’d like to change the value for.

In the pop-up window, you can change the value - in this case, the beats per minute for the Heart Rate.

You can even provide an onset, which is the number of seconds you give your patient to ramp up to or down to the newly defined rate.

Click on the checkmark in the bottom right corner to apply the new settings.

An ongoing onset will be signaled by a little arrow in the top right corner of the modified Vital Value Sign value.

Changing Waveforms

You can change your patient’s vital sign values on the go through preset waveforms too.

In the Virtual Patient Monitor, click on the waveform you want to change.

Then simply select from the available presets appearing in the drop-down.

Customize the layout of your Virtual Patient Monitor

You can customize which vitals appear in your Virtual Patient Monitor.

Click on the cogwheel at the top right-hand corner of the "Vitals" section:

Then select or deselect items with a simple click in the appearing drop-down list.

If you want to reset the view just deselect and select all from the top to the bottom.

The changes you make are saved to your account, so the layout will be reflected in any simulation you run in the future.

Changing Sounds for Auscultations

You can manually change heart, lung, and bowel sounds for auscultations.

Learn how to change auscultation sounds in this video:

Or in the 'Sounds' tab simply click on the vital you wish to set a sound for then simply choose from a number of preset options appearing in the drop-down menu.

All the settings you apply on the go will be reflected in the behavior of your simulator.
