The Virtual Patient Monitor (VPM) is a core feature for tracking and adjusting patient vitals in real-time.

The Virtual Patient Monitor displays:

  • Vital signs & waveforms based on the patient’s current condition

  • Customizable layout & values for a personalized experience

  • Real-time updates that sync directly with your simulator

You can modify vitals on the go by:

  • Adjusting values manually in the VPM

  • Selecting a predefined condition from the waveform dropdown

All changes will immediately reflect in your simulation!

Projecting Vitals for Learners

For displaying vitals to learners, you can choose between two viewing options: Bedside Station or Vitals Only.

The Bedside Station view includes vitals, the Patient File on the left, and Hints & Tips on the right, while Vitals Only provides a fullscreen view of vitals without additional information.

Both views are read-only, meaning students can observe but cannot modify the simulation.

Setting Up the Display

  1. Start a simulation session

  2. Go to Simulators tab (use the back arrow from the simulation control screen)

  3. Click the cogwheel (settings) on your simulator

  4. Find the Patient Monitor section → Click either Bedside Station or Vitals Only

  5. Copy & share the link to open it on any internet-connected device

Pro Tip: Set up the VPM link once on a dedicated classroom monitor, and it will sync automatically with new scenarios in every session.
