In this feature series, we’re covering key capabilities of your ALEX/AXEL manikin. Today’s focus: palpable pulses—a fundamental but important tool for hands-on assessment.

Check Pulses Instantly

  • ALEX/AXEL has 8 pulse points: bilateral carotid, radial, brachial, and pedal pulses.

  • Pulses are only active when palpated, just like in real patients.

How It Works

  • Start a simulation—pulses won’t activate otherwise.

  • Touch any pulse point to feel it immediately.

  • Each pulse check is logged automatically for tracking.

Need a faster or slower pulse? Simply change the heart rate on the vitals monitor—ALEX/AXEL will respond instantly.
