Once you’ve created  your own patient (learn how to here) you can add as many patient states to it as you like. You can even customize each to your simulation needs as explained here.

You can always choose to switch between states manually as well, but you can also set your patient up to progress between your states on its own.

If you haven’t learned about setting up for automatic state transitions, start here

 All you need to do is predefine a condition or a set of criteria to trigger the automatic switch to your preferred state.

You can add as many and any variation of criteria you like, and can choose from the following types of criterion to set:

  • "Speech conversation responds with" - meaning the patient must say a specific response from under their conversation settings;

  • "Log entry including:" - meaning a specific log entry must be entered into the running simulation's logs;

  • "Vital sign value:" - meaning a specific vital value must go above or below a certain value;

  • “Checklist item” - meaning a specific objective in your Checklist has been “marked as ✔” or “marked as ✘” during the running session

Simply use the “Add Criterion” button to start creating your criteria for the state to kick in.

Before you finish, you’ll  also need to tell your patient how the criteria you create should be completed in order for the state to launch and starting from when the program should watch for your criteria to be completed for this specific state to launch. Learn about this here
